Chips fell an eighth straight day Friday, the longest streak since 2008. The semiconductor index lost 11.4% on the week, and CoreWeave dropped almost 12% Friday as the debt funding the AI buildout became the thing people were selling. SPX closed at 7,659.44, its worst week since June. Premarket 7,700, with Nasdaq futures leading the bounce.
What doesn't fit is oil. WTI settled at $101.41 Friday, its first close over $100 in a month, after a missile aimed at Saudi Arabia's Yanbu export port was intercepted and a Ukrainian drone shut a big Russian refinery unit. Bonds rallied anyway. The 10-year is at 5.06% this morning against 5.24% two Fridays ago, and October hike odds fell to around 15% once Warsh said Friday he doesn't prejudge meetings. Hot inflation and triple-digit oil got a Fed pause priced in the same week. With rates off the table, what's pulling money out of stocks is the debt behind AI. Wednesday tests it, with Meta, Tesla and IBM all reporting after the close. Today has only NAHB housing, with the Fed in its quiet period.
Premarket sits right on the call wall, 7,700 and 7,705 together, with the 50-day at 7,706 and the 8-week at 7,699 on the same spot. It's a weak wall. Every strike from 7,700 up to 7,800 carries some positive gamma and none of it dominates, so a push through grinds instead of stalling, and the three short MAs at 7,739-7,740 are the first real resistance. The flip is 7,680, with 7,675 to 7,695 chopping between signs. Under it the 7,650 put wall is four times any other node on the profile, and every strike beneath it is negative down to 7,500.
With the earnings that matter not due until Wednesday, the lean is long on a dip into 7,685, the last positive node over the 7,680 flip with prior demand just under it. That buys the pin back to the 50-day and the call wall at 7,706, then 7,719. Paying for the open on the wall chases the whole gap. A hold under 7,676 ends it, and below there the profile is negative straight into the 7,650 put wall.

GEX Profile (Oct 19)
- Call Wall
- 7,705. 5 over premarket, on the 50-day, with 7,700 the same block. Every strike from 7,700 to 7,800 is positive and none dominates, so a break grinds higher toward the 7,740 node and the short MAs.
- Gamma Flip
- 7,680. 20 under. The 7,675-7,695 band flips sign strike to strike, so treat the whole band as the transition.
- Put Wall
- 7,650. 50 under, four times any other node on the profile, with negatives at every strike down to 7,500. Overall the profile runs a little over two to one negative.
