Producer prices came in flat for July. Forecasts said +0.2%. The annual rate fell to 4.7% from 5.5% in June, with core at 0.2% on the month. Falling energy did most of the work, down 3.1% at the wholesale level. The S&P closed at 7,799, up 0.65%, a record, one point shy of 7,800. Two soft inflation prints in a row now after Wednesday's CPI. The ten-year eased to 4.65% and the market prices a September hold. The committee is not so settled. Hammack was back within hours of the print calling for immediate hikes, and July's vote was 9-3, with three of the twelve dissenting for a quarter-point raise, the most dissents since September 2016. Those minutes land Wednesday the 19th, so the tape is leaning against three voting members until then.

Retail sales at 8:30 decides the open, consensus +0.1% for July. Consumer sentiment follows at 10, along with June business inventories. Earnings are doing less work: Applied Materials beat and raised and still dropped about 5% overnight, priced for perfection after roughly doubling this year. Nu jumped 12% on a record quarter. Reddit joins the S&P 500 on the 18th and popped 10%.

The gamma profile is top-heavy. Premarket 7,805 sits 5 under the call wall at 7,810, the biggest node anywhere, and more heavy positives wait at 7,825 and 7,830. That shape makes 7,810 less a cap than a doorway. When dense positive gamma sits above a wall, clearing it pulls price toward the shelf, an orderly grind with dealers dampening the whole way, not a squeeze. Below, the big positive gamma ends at 7,790. The flip is 7,775, thirty points under premarket, and once it goes there are only fifteen points of shelf before the put wall block at 7,760-7,770. No prior level in the book sits above 7,763. Gamma is the only map up here.

My read is lopsided. In gamma this positive, dips into 7,790 get bought and a grind through the wall toward 7,830 is the natural path. Downside only opens on a hot retail number that takes 7,775, and from there the shelf is thin: prior resistance at 7,763 inside the put block, prior demand at 7,755 and 7,746 under it. It's Friday, the weekly close counts, and with the 21-week EMA 440 points below, trend is not today's question.

GEX Profile (Aug 14)

Call Wall
7,810. Five over premarket, biggest node on the day. Heavy positives above it at 7,825 and 7,830, so a break pulls toward the shelf instead of capping. Gamma thins past 7,830.
Gamma Flip
7,775. Thirty below. Positives stay heavy down to 7,790, fade to residual under that, negatives run sustained from 7,775.
Put Wall
7,760. The strikes at 7,765 and 7,770 sit close behind it, so it trades as one block directly under the flip. Narrow shelf, not a deep floor.
